Product Description

The 3D printer extruder cooler CoolDry Pro 2 actively pumps dry, chilled air directly into the extruder through the stock filament feed path on supported Bambu Lab printers. By establishing a sharp thermal barrier at the cold zone without lowering chamber temperature, it eliminates heat creep in hot ambient environments (≥30°C / 86°F) and enables seamless closed-door dual-material printing—including PVA supports for ABS/TPU, PLA-on-PETG breakaway, and ultra-soft TPU 85A. It also prevents stepper motor overheating and gear slipping during high-flow printing, while keeping ultrafine particles (UFPs), fumes, and noise safely contained inside. Built with auto-drain, optical sensing, and quiet <48 dBA operation.

It maintains a chilled cold zone while keeping the chamber at 50°C (122°F), unlocking flawless dual-material prints (PVA with ABS/PETG/TPU, PLA-on-PETG breakaway), ultra-soft TPU 85A extrusion, and preventing motor heat buildup in high-flow setups. Upgraded with an ABS molded housing, auto-drain, optical fail-safe sensing, and 2× Performance mode.

How do auto-drain and optical water-level sensing work?

2nd-gen CoolDry Pro cools room air, then an industrial water-gas separator removes condensate through a 50-micron filter and an auto-drain float so the unit can run multi-day / 24-7 jobs without emptying a bottle on a timer. Optical water-level sensing is the fail-safe: if the drain path clogs, the unit is designed to stop overflow from reaching printer components. An optional temperature-controlled outlet (sold separately) can auto start around 113°F (45°C) and stop around 109°F (43°C) so the pump is not running when the chamber is cold.

What printers does it fit, and what extra parts do I need?

CoolDry Pro is designed for Bambu Lab A1 / A1 mini, H2S / P2S / P1S / X1C, and X2D / H2D / H2C. P2S / P1S / X1C use the included intake tee and tubes. H2D / H2C need the H2 intake 5-way kit; H2S uses the included 3-way and does not need the 5-way. X2D needs the X2D intake 5-way kit — on X2D the right nozzle is remote-extruded, so CoolDry Pro mainly protects the filament path; for PLA above about 118°F (48°C) chamber, a more heat-tolerant PLA such as Polymaker PLA is recommended. A1 / A1 mini need the magnetic A1 front cover. Confirm toolhead travel is not restricted by tubing at all four corners before printing.
